Vintage Rustic Chic Dining Room (update on online decorating)

I've been decorating in my mind....so I thought I would share it with y'all...

Here is this dreamy dining room...I see it being connected
to the kitchen.  The floor and lighting will be bold, the fabrics and artwork soft,
the mirrors sleek and the furniture rustic and old (looking, at least)

here it goes....come along for the ride!

To start off bold, the oak floors need to be Donald Kaufman DKC-23 Green
(but a deck paint to withstand wear better)

The walls are to be vertical or horizontal white boards (I love Ben Moore
White Dove...such a perfect white) ....depending on
the height of the room  (same theory that tall models can wear horizontal
stripes well, but short people look better with vertical stripes to elongate)

A tin ceiling would be perfect as a foil to the bold floors....
or white beaded board if you would prefer them more muted.

A white farm table from

Wisteria or...

White Flower Farmhouse

The lighting must be fabulous!

or

The chandelier(s) should contrast the simple, rustic nature of room
lighting resource from ModGIRL

or this Frenchie, flea market-type from Ballard Designs

Can you see the room coming together?

For seating:

A classic, white Bentwood from Crate & Barrel

and my FAVE from Anthropolgie:

You need a mix....

perhaps two of these, three Bentwoods and one simple farm chair (brown)

I see a china hutch in the room:

(I think this is from Domino)

I see a cabinet painted Heirloom White....with some floral wallpaper on the doors:

again, from Anthropologie

And antique mirrored tile for the backs of the cabinet in lieu of stripes

(like the antiqueness of the Atoll mirror from Ballard)

For art....some vintage florals from Etsy & elsewhere

this is the feel I'm going for (from Domino)

Or if florals aren't your thing, I can see some asymmetrical plates

these sconces (Wisteria)

two or three of these puppies depending on the length of the room

(so you will see antiqued mirror in the cabinet
and on the wall)

these curtains....
(Anthro)

With these for texture   (they look much
better in-person.  Promise.  From my super-
secret source:  smartbargains.com)

these tiebacks...
(Urban Outfitters)

this sideboard (Sundance)

I can see her in this room...

wearing this...

And I couldn't leave you without showing you
Anthro's new bed:

And one final note:

If you like my style, I am offering to do two free rooms
for my readers to build up an online decorating portfolio.

UPDATE:  Three rooms have been chosen.  (I just chose the first three
who wrote me!)  I am excited and flattered and wish I could
get to them all.  I can't wait to introduce the rooms...if the homeowners
are willing.  Also, if you are still interested and willing to pay, feel
free to still email me.  I would do them all for free but they do take
time and energy...plus my husband may shoot me.  Thanks so much, Julie

  15. Ooooooh. What a fun project.

I love the idea of painting floors. I have hardwood (that's in terrible shape) and I've been trying to convince my husband to let me paint it. He won't budge.

I may need you to talk to him for me.
