Alys Beach, Florida truly is a litte glimpse of the mediterranean
on the Gulf of Mexico. There is such love and care in the
design.
This is what will great you went you go to get your keys from
the property management. No stinky office here!
The thoughtfulness in design abounds.
Three hanging planters here....
mirrors the three windows on the adjacent wall...
And a symbol you may spot at the coffee shop...
You might just spy it again on a home down the street.
I tell ya...I don't think there are any beautiful accidents here.

contribution to this post. We thank you, W!)
Okay, no more commentary from me for the rest of these
pictures. You will see a mix of both Alys and Seaside. Enjoy!
You know I couldn't stay quiet for long...check out the
playground at the coffee shop. Does this tell ya anything?
I had to take a shot of their legs!! These women are like
74-years-old. The people looked like their surroundings here.

I hope your labor day is this restful......Julie
oh--and a few pictures of my great room! (an Atlanta designer's place, no less :)
Beautiful! I would never guess this was in Florida, if I hadn't heard it straight from you. I'm adding this to my vacation list.
ReplyDeleteThat playground...crazy!
Wonderful. This June the CNU took a bus tour of the New Urban places in the SE: Seaside, Rosemary, Alys Beach, Serenbe et al.. I was fortunate to attend a discussion group about it. The though Alys Beach was the over best both in planning and in the architecture.
ReplyDeleteWhat great photos Julie. Looks like a wonderful trip :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great one!! Alys is just dreamy and so are you!!

ReplyDeleteP.S. I haven't found any TV solutions yet. Still looking for that perfect piece. =)
Design heaven. OOh I can feel the heat from the shots - the sun has left us over here! Anyway what an amazing place. I have never seen a playground like that before! Great shots you took. Hope you had a great time x
ReplyDeleteI have wanted to stay at Alys Beach since I saw pictures a couple of summers ago! I've stayed at Seaside a couple of times, but it's so crowded now and the hurricanes have made the beach really small. Is Alys set up like Seaside? With most of the houses across 30A from the beach?
ReplyDeleteJust found you on BYW! Nice blog!
Wow! This is where you spent your much needed vacation? Lucky gal!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just LOVE Alys Beach?????? If I win the lottery.....well that is where you will find me! Looks like you had a great time.
