indulge me...and NEWS!

...while I share my new love of taking pictures.

It is so funny that Chris works with a camera all day...yet I am the picture-taker of the family.

I love walking around the home before the sun sets and snap a few shots of the glow.

(by the way, if you are thinking of stenciling a room....do it!  And do it in a metallic paint.  The sparkle is fantastic.)

I need to take a class...one day.  I am loving decorating, writing & blogging too much now.

I enjoy playing around with the focus.

Not everyone is happy with my new-found hobby.

They are becoming immune to mom with a camera.

sometimes I sneak...

I am shocked these boys pull fresh basil from the herb garden and eat it while they play.

I know he's too old for the paci (or "nani" as we call it).  We're getting there...

And I gotta share a few phone pics from one of our favorite restaurants near horse country:  The Union.

Chris doesn't fit the decor at all, does he?

How great are those pendants, panelling, and peace sign?

They totally go all the way with the kitsch.  Check out the sofa, pillows, and old school cafeteria chairs.

And the best steak frites in the city.

Does your favorite restaurant have cool decor?  Email me pics.  Have a great weekend....Julie

Okay---and so excited to share with y'all (because, honestly, without this blog and readers this would not have happened...because if no one ever read I would have cried and probably stopped blogging) that Better Homes & Gardens is coming to shoot our home!!!  Do you know how tickled we are?  Thank you Thank you Thank you for being so kind and encouraging.  What a dream come true!

  7. Ohmygosh-that's amazing! Congrats - so can't wait to see it. he he We knew you when...

Also, I have that same little cream mirror stand. And I love the look of that restaurant - steak frittes - yum!

On the paci/binki/crack/life-line...I thought that was going to be a nightmare to get Stella to quit and she'd probably still be using it if it weren't for the lady who watches her insisting. So right before her 2nd bday here is what I did and it worked like magic: I started on a weekend...on Sat & Sun, I only gave it to her to sleep with during naptime and bedtime. And then I'd hide it and we played the game, "where's the paci?" and she'd help me look for it, we'd never find it, shrug it off, and I'd suggest we go do something like play in the park. I couldn't believe how easily she forgot about it. Then on Monday, poof! totally gone. So kind of like cold turkey - just a two day weening process.
