Do you remember this one? A widower transformed his new, builder-grade digs into something that will transport you to Provence. I am typing from memory, so forgive me if I'm wrong...I believe he found the soapstone sink at a yardsale and he poured the concrete countertops himself. The treatment on the cabinets and floors really give this kitchen some "age"....but not cheesy, faux patina--it looks authentic to me.
check out this dining table...so raw & chunky.
So French, non? (this image via Full House the rest I don't know--but originals from Country Living magazine, of course)
I love concrete tops....we looked into them, but the labor is what costs you..not the materials. If Chris wasn't working so much he could have poured ours himself, but to pay someone they can run about $80/ sq ft.
Isn't the place just lovely?
Have a great Thursday....Julie
Those pictures are so my style. If I didn't think my husband would divorce me [which would leave me poor and homeless] I would rip off my granite and lay concrete like that. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! And I know what you mean about concrete counters....highway robbery!!! But there is so much smoothing, and smoothing.....
ReplyDeleteLove that! I would love to see the before. I'll have to show this to my husband.... he is in disbelief you can turn a builder grade into something. I'm in love with that kitchen! :)
ReplyDeleteThat house is creative and amazing! I love all the textures and layers. Very well thought out!
ReplyDeleteLove it! You would totally think you're in France in that space. I love the concrete counters too and all the vintage pieces give it such personality :)
